I decided to write this page to answer the many people who have asked me how it is possible to go on a 3-week motorcycle trip without huge suitcases in tow.
The first thing to know is that there are coin laundries! In America there are plenty, but also in Japan, China, Europe and even in Italy it is very easy to find them. I assure you, if well planned, even the laundry moment can be a pleasant experience. You have to take it lightly: load the washing machine and in the meantime go have an aperitif or a snack. No one will steal your laundry and you will avoid waiting for the wash to finish in a sad laundromat. At Monument Valley a lady took care of our laundry and so, while we had a snack, when we returned we found our laundry ready and folded.
With this necessary premise, you should know that you only need to bring enough clothing for one week, at the end of which you do a nice wash, a good drying, and you’ll be ready to go again.
To reduce the bulk of your luggage and thus have more space to bring home your souvenirs, whether bulky or not, I discovered a small but ingenious trick! It’s a small device for vacuum packing designed especially for travelers. The name of this marvel is Wacù. To use it you only need a power outlet and vacuum bags, and you’re all set. I recommend buying the specific Wacù bags which, besides being specially designed for the device, are also really fashionable! You can choose from three different sizes and different patterns.
If you follow these simple rules, you’ll travel light and have the chance to buy lots of souvenirs as a memory of this wonderful trip!!
