As I was saying, the city of Vermillion doesn't have much to offer in terms of tourist attractions; it's a transfer stop. The best hotel is the Best Western Vermilion Inn: a comfortable and average hotel. Let me tell you a funny anecdote about this hotel: we asked the receptionist if there was a taxi that could take us downtown for dinner (it was August 15th and we wanted to celebrate Ferragosto). The girl looked at us a bit puzzled and told us that there wasn't a real taxi, but there was a transportation service offered by the municipality. We thought it was very kind of the municipality to have this type of service and confirmed the booking. At the appointed time, our "taxi driver" arrived: a middle-aged man with a white van. We discovered that it was actually a transportation service for drunk people... we laughed so hard!
