WHERE TO EAT IN CHICAGO

Chicago's gastronomic offer is very wide. Personally, I suggest you try these 3 restaurants, which are very different from each other.

I'll divide them by category:

STREET FOOD:

As I already mentioned, if you are in Chicago you can't miss tasting the Chicago style hot dog. If you followed my advice, you will surely have already tried it during the tour at Millennium Park. However, it is a must to pay a visit and have a tasting at Portillo's: the temple of the hot dog!
In this historic place, the authentic hot dog typical of the city is served, respecting the ancient recipe that includes these among its ingredients:
mustard, relish, celery salt, freshly chopped onions, sliced ripe red tomatoes, kosher pickle, and peppers piled on a perfectly steamed poppy seed bun. Even the packaging is absolutely traditional: the hot dog is wrapped in paper, strictly placed in a paper bag.
The place is very rustic and does not offer table service. As in any self-respecting fast-food, you queue, order and pay, sit at a table and wait to be called to pick up your order.
Don't be scared by the line you will surely find when you arrive (at any time), the staff is very efficient and you will be served in no time.

FASHION DINNER:

If you want to spend an evening in a fashionable place in the city, tasting excellent Italian cuisine (don't worry, here they really live up to our standards!), you must reserve a table at Siena Tavern. Reservation is practically mandatory otherwise you won't be able to find a table.
If you are staying at the Westin River North, you just have to step out of the hotel and literally walk a few steps.
The place is very beautiful, with chic furnishings, frequented exclusively by locals busy with their night-out.
The restaurant is really welcoming with those sofas instead of chairs....
The cuisine is excellent. The chef amazed us with excellent cured meats accompanied by outstanding fried gnocco, followed by truffle gnocchi and ending with delicious mini bomboloni....to die for!  You will have a great memory of this dinner and the desire to return!

ALL AMERICAN DINNER:

For your all American dinner I recommend Ditka'srestaurant owned by the famous Mike Ditka, former football player and Chicago Bears star.
It seems it's not at all difficult to find him at the restaurant: we missed him by a few minutes.
The restaurant has a typically American atmosphere, like those restaurants/clubs you often see in movies. Stylish decor, all in polished wood, memorabilia and football photos on the walls, impeccable and super attentive service from the waiter who will look after you all evening.
The food is in perfect American style: from hamburgers to prawns served in great style with plenty of steaming melted butter. The cuisine is excellent and the dishes are very well prepared. Worth trying if you want to ensure yourself a true all American culinary experience!
