WHERE TO EAT IN KANAZAWA

A must-stop is definitely lunch at the Omicho Market
This place has very ancient origins dating back to around the mid-1700s, but while there were originally only a few stalls, today there are almost 200. The market is frequented by both locals and tourists precisely because of the great variety of fresh seasonal fish. It goes without saying that the atmosphere is always lively and noisy, and wherever you turn you will hear the voices of vendors calling for customers' attention. The endless rows of stands are a wonder for the eyes and immediately make your mouth water: there are fish of various colors and shapes, shellfish, and other little-known sea creatures that spark curiosity and encourage you to try new flavors. In addition to fish, there are also stalls selling fruit. This place is ideal for a quick meal and to be able to taste an endless variety of products, such as oysters, sea urchins, every kind of mollusk, and many dishes you surely have never tried! Even though the market stays open all day, I recommend going in the morning or at lunchtime as some stands close very early.

I suggest you try the typical dish of Omicho Market: grilled eel with soy sauce served with rice. And for dessert, don't miss tasting the gold leaf ice cream, typical of Kanazawa.

If you want a break from Japanese cuisine, try the fantastic authentic Neapolitan pizza (yes, you read that right!) at pizzeria Salina. It's truly exceptional: made to perfection with all Italian ingredients that the owner has shipped directly from Italy. The Japanese pizza chef spent 2 years in Naples to learn how to cook real Neapolitan pizza. The price is absolutely fair and in line with our pizza in Italy.

If you want to have an aperitif, go for a craft beer at Oriental Brewing and try their snacks.

For breakfast I recommend German Bakery, a short distance from Hotel Korinbo, where you will find countless sweet and savory treats to accompany an iced caffè latte: a great start to the hot day awaiting you in Kanazawa.
