Sapporo offers many different options for lunch and dinner. I would like to point out that one of the city's most famous dishes is Ramen, which you absolutely must try. There are countless places that serve it. I recommend trying it in one of the many restaurants inside the Station. For a quick oyster snack, stop by the Nijo market. If you visit the city between mid-July and mid-August, you can take part in the Sapporo Beer Festival which is held in various parts of the city. Every Japanese brewery, and not only, has its own stand where, in addition to beer, themed food is offered. It's a kind of Japanese Oktoberfest. For a different evening, I recommend having dinner in Susukino. If you want to treat yourself and enjoy a good meal, Italian style, I recommend Osteria Bava. Try the seafood risotto: a delight! Finally, you absolutely cannot miss the chance to try a grilled meat dish called Genghis Khan, typical of Hokkaido. Enjoy it inside the beer garden of the Sapporo factory. In this huge venue (which was previously the brewery itself) you will sit at a table with a large stove in the center, on which a cast iron grill will be placed for you to cook vegetables and lamb meat. Remember to put on the "big bib" provided, as during cooking, splashes from the grill are common. It will be a fun and tasty experience to wash down with a nice mug of Sapporo beer!
