Our room in style
As I mentioned before, Milwaukee is a real melting pot where different cultures coexist.
When we arrived in the city, particularly in the Concordia neighborhood where the B&B we had chosen is located, we were a bit shocked. The B&B is inside an old Victorian villa made entirely of red bricks with a very austere appearance. All around is an African American ghetto, like those you see in classic American movies, complete with Black kids in cars listening to music and watching your every move. In the neighborhood you’ll find mosques and Catholic churches. In fact, there is nothing to fear: everyone coexists peacefully, in fact they help each other out. We walked around at night without any problems. Later in the evening, maybe take an Uber to get back.
But let's talk about the B&B. The Schuster Mansion is a B&B from another era. When you cross the threshold, you are transported to another time. The house is all in Victorian style, full of trinkets and references to that era. You will be welcomed by the owners who, after giving you a brief description of the house, will ask what you would like for breakfast the next day. The menu is very varied. The rooms are also in style, very unique and full of details.
Your sleep will be peaceful and relaxing.
The biggest surprise will be when you wake up and find, outside your room door, what I love most, the pre-breakfast, a sort of delicious pre-breakfast with cream and homemade pastries accompanied by steaming tea and coffee. What better way to start the day!
Afterwards, in the dining room, you will be served a traditional breakfast. The motorcycle can easily be parked in the driveway at the back of the house.
