There aren't many hotel facilities in Treampealeau. Among this limited selection, I opted for the solution that seemed most authentic to me. So I chose to stay at the town's only B&B: Lucas House.
Their website has somewhat grainy photos, but as always I followed my intuition and what can I say: we had a great time!
The B&B is the typical multi-story American house, surrounded by a white picket fence, with a well-kept garden around it and the American flag waving. From your balcony you can enjoy an invaluable view of the Mississippi River.
The owners are a very nice elderly couple, very kind but also very reserved.
The bedrooms are spacious and each has its own private separate bathroom. It will feel like sleeping at your grandmother's house: what a pleasant feeling!
The next morning the owners await you in their huge kitchen to serve you an excellent breakfast. You'll find everything but you absolutely can't miss Tom's toast. It's a toast made directly by Tom, the owner, filled with peanut butter and tomatoes from his garden: a real treat. By now, in our house, Tom's toast is a must for Sunday morning breakfast!
