Amarillo is the largest city in
Texas to be located on the route where the historic Route 66 passed. The most
evident tracks of the 66 can be found at the Big Texan Steak Ranch (we
will talk about it in the next sections) and at the famous Cadillac Ranch. This is a monumental sculpture that consists of an alignment of ten scrapped
Cadillacs, placed in such a way as to give the impression of being planted in
the ground. This monument is also the title of a Bruce Springsteen's song. It
will be fun to take some pictures. If you like country fashion, I recommend you
stop at Cavender's: a huge themed shop. Here you can find cowboy boots, shirts,
vests, jeans and accessories of all kinds. The nice team shop will help you
with your choice. However, do not exaggerate your purchases as the shop will not
be able to ship the goods to Italy. You will, therefore, have to bring all of them with you and there is still a long way to go ...
