WHAT TO SEE IN NASHVILLE

The city of music confirms its reputation: here you can listen to live music throughout the city, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You never know which show you could attend: from the honky-tonk bands playing at the Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, to the songwriters of the Bluebird Cafe, to the country music legends who perform at the Grand Ole Opry. The creative spirit of Nashville's music scene also flows in the myriad of art galleries in the area, in the emerging fashion scenario, in historic monuments, and in the restaurants lead by great chefs. Since we only had one day to visit the city, we booked a private guided tour of the city before departure. Our eccentric driver, in perfect Nashville style, came to pick us up with a van and took us on a fascinating half-day tour of Nashville. You will see the Parthenon, the State Capitol, the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park (open to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the state), the recording studios where they say it is very easy to meet the most famous singers, downtown Nashville... The guide will also accompany you on a photographic tour where you can be immortalized next to some of the most famous murals in the city. Once the tour is over, I recommend you go on a shopping trip to the Marathon Village on your own. It is a cool address for the city shopping. Inside this former factory, you will find some fancy shops and Jack Daniel's General Store where you can taste and buy the famous Tennessee whiskey. Then continue for a dip in downtown shops where it will be easy to find promotions like 3x2 on cowboy boots. Visit the local Hard Rock where there are beautiful souvenirs like t-shirts and small guitars that you can use at home as nice ornaments. If you are a Harley driver you cannot miss a stop at Boswell's: the legendary Harley Davidson shop where you will find fantastic t-shirts as a souvenir of your stop in Nashville and some beautiful and original clothing items signed by HD.

For the evening the program includes a tour of the clubs to listen to some music and if you are a fan of line dance like me, you can go to the Wildhorse Saloon to dance while enjoying your dinner.
